Questions
How does a mystery word search book work?
Each chapter is one page of story. On the facing page is a word search with 14 words from that chapter. When every word is circled, the letters you did not use, read row by row, spell a short clue about the case.
Can I really solve the case myself?
Yes. Every clue Maggie uses is in the story before the solution. A page before the final chapters asks you to name the killer and say how it was done, and there are case-notes pages for suspects, motives and alibis.
Do I need to read the books in order?
No. Each book is a complete mystery with its own case, and none gives away the solution of another.
Are the puzzles in large print?
Yes, the word searches are 15 × 15 grids in large, clear letters, one per page, with all solutions and hidden clues at the back. The story pages are set in big, clear type.
Is it suitable as a gift for seniors?
That is who we write them for: cozy, never gory, with a kind amateur sleuth, a gentle pace and puzzles that are relaxing rather than tricky.
